Bay County Sheriff’s office serves community with 7 different divisions - The Field Services Division, The Court Services Division, Special Investigations Division, The Criminal Investigations Division, The Support Services Division, The Community Services Division and The Warrants Division.

The Field Services Division is comprised of patrol deputies and several specialized teams. These groups, under the direction of Captain, combine to form the largest division of the Bay County Sheriff's Office. Uniformed patrol deputies are assigned to different zones of Bay County, and each is responsible for responding to the calls for service in his or her assigned zone. This group of men and women patrolled more than 1.7 million miles and answered more than 135,000 business and 82,369 residential security checks, and answered more than 77,742 complaints resulting in more than 4,314 arrests in the year 2004.

The Court Services Division is a three-fold operation, including the Warrants and Civil sections and courtroom bailiffs. Deputies in the warrants section are tasked with serving all warrants and criminal summons in Bay County. More than 8,500 criminal warrants were served by this division in the year 2000. Additionally, these deputies transported more than 1,300 inmates, to serve state time at the Florida Department of Corrections or to serve as witnesses in court cases.

The Special Investigations Division officers are comprised of over 120 years of combined law enforcement experience in the enforcement of Florida's narcotics laws. The division is made up of nine sworn officers, one technician and administrative support personnel. The officers within this unit are highly trained and experienced in the field of drug related investigations, vice crimes such as prostitution, gambling and organized crime. The division concentrates its efforts in the area of drug related investigations and utilizes all methods of enforcement activities such as drug sweeps, undercover purchases and reverse sting operations in order to accomplish this goal.

The Criminal Investigations Division, or C.I.D., investigates persons and property crimes occurring in Bay County. In addition to the investigation and prosecution of criminals, these professionals are responsible for crime scene investigations, administration of truth verification devices, gathering and compiling of criminal intelligence and evidence processing and storage.

The Support Services Division consists of several different sections, including Records, Purchasing, Property, Facilities Management, Automotive Repair Shop and Computer Section. This section provides support for the other divisions within the Sheriff's Office.

The Community Services Division is responsible for programs that educate our citizens on how to be as safe as possible and avoid being a victim of a crime, as well as providing many outlets for the public to be involved with Law Enforcement and the community around them.

The Warrants Division is a three part operation consisting Warrants service officers, in house Deputies, and the Transportation section.
