The Humane Society of Bay County (HSBC) main focus is to relieve the problems of animal overpopulation and abuse through high-volume adoption programs, low-cost spay/neuter programs, and community education. HSBC Offers programs such as Animal Shelter Services, Animal Welfare Programs, Pets for Adoption. These services include adoptions, educational presentations, animal care information, Bay County laws and ordinances information, micro-chip identification implants, pet therapy, lost and found, dog dipping and bathing, cremation, newsletter, volunteer opportunities, and community events. The “Angel” fund offers Foster Care for injured, young or sick dogs and cats.

Coming from the Callaway/Springfield/Cedar Grove area on Hwy 98 heading West, you will pass Transmitter, Hwy 389, and Sherman Ave. After passing Sherman Ave, look for Bay Avenue on the right, immediately after the Police Station. Take a right on Bay Avenue. You should see a large sign for the Humane Society at this corner. On Bay Avenue, take the first right, then follow the road. You should see a pond and our shelter on the left. The shelter looks like an igloo. Drive through the gate and park.

Coming from Panama City or the Beach area on Hwy 98 heading East, pass Hwy 77 then look for Bay Avenue on the left (you should see the Police Station on the left). Take a left on Bay Avenue, then the first right. Follow this road till you see our shelter on the left. Our shelter is shaped like an igloo. Drive through the gate and park.
